Great burgers, sides, sodas. Friendly staff. Perfect location and atmosphere. Locally owned, operated and even locally supplied if that interests you. A Carbondale TREASURE.

Luscious flavorful burgers and casual environment did not like soda in fountain or cauliflower bites, but burger made up for it. Also excellent classic rock tunes.

Best burgers in The Dale. Their sides are amazing too. Be prepared to smell like the place too. You can eat here and then go to someone's house or business and they will ask you, "you been at Fat Patties?" :) Here's the deal. If you want a delicious, local raised, beef burger that kick the pants off anything within a 2.5 hour drive - go here. Also, they support Lick Creek Beef which is a local farm owned/operated by a cool dude, Josh. So you get all the good karma points too - local business supporting local food. Heck ya.

Since I don't have an In-N-Out for miles around I have to resort to the next best thing. Fat Patties did the trick. The customer service is awesome and the owner definitely cares about his customers. The burger is flavorful and delicious. I just wish they were a little bit bigger. :( The fries are really good...def. worth it! Free delivery over 8 bucks...so order enough for yourself or treat a friend.

Since I have no In-N-Out or Five Guys near me, this place is the next best alternative. The menu there is pretty extensive (not just burgers) and everything is relatively cheap. Good for the poor student. They have many varieties of sandwiches to choose from. They are particularly known for their hamburgers and cheeseburgers though. The only problem I had with the actual physical location was that they didn't have proper ventilation. Once they got a lot of orders, the place would fill up with smoke. It got musty and cloudy. They had two huge fans in the back to help ventilate, but that doesn't help if a window or door isn't open. The workers there are helpful and quick to explain the menu to you. Everything is made to order so call in for take-out or you will be waiting for 10-15 minutes. Good alternatives to the burgers are the pork chop sandwich and the beef brisket. I liked the buns on the beef brisket sandwich, but the brisket was a little more well-done than I would have liked. It had the texture of bacon, but since I like bacon, I didn't mind so much. The only side I tried was the fries and they were yummy. They are like steak-n-shake fries, short, thin, and crispy. This is a great place to get a good burger and just chill for the college crowd, which is probably everyone who lives in Carbondale.
